APPROPRIATING 6,314,155 DOLLARS FROM FISCAL YEAR 1998-99 SURPLUS GENERAL FUND REVENUES TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS OF THE STATE TO PAY INCREASED STATE HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN PREMIUMS BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2000.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. From surplus fiscal year 1998-99 state general fund revenues, there is appropriated 6,314,155 dollars to the school districts of the State to pay increased state health insurance premiums beginning January 1, 2000. These additional funds must be distributed to school districts as provided in Section 59-21-160 of the 1976 Code. Unexpended funds may be carried forward and expended in subsequent fiscal years for the same purpose.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
