RECOGNIZING AND CONGRATULATING LEONARD L. JONTE OF GREELEYVILLE, AND THE OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS OF THE BANK OF GREELEYVILLE, ON THE OCCASION OF LEONARD L. JONTE BEING NAMED THE 1999 PRESIDENT OF THE INDEPENDENT BANKS OF SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, the Independent Banks of South Carolina is an association of seventy-two locally owned and operated banks in South Carolina that promotes the interests and general welfare of the independent banks within the State; and
Whereas, Leonard L. Jonte grew up in Greeleyville, received a bachelor of arts from the University of South Carolina, is a graduate of the Stonier School of Banking, and was named 1999 President of the Independent Banks of South Carolina at a recent convention held at Hilton Head; and
Whereas, Leonard L. Jonte is the President and CEO of the Bank of Greeleyville and also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Greeleyville; and
Whereas, Leonard L. Jonte, together with Vice President and Director Robert W. Jonte, Jr., Vice President and Director Jackie H. Rogan, Vice President Michael P. Mahoney, and Directors Peter C. Lesesne and Margery J. Mahoney are all to be congratulated on the splendid banking services the Bank of Greeleyville has provided over the years to the businesses, citizens and residents of Greeleyville, Williamsburg County, and the State of South Carolina; and
Whereas, Leonard L. Jonte, in addition to being a community leader and an outstanding citizen, has consistently had a positive impact on the economic development of Greeleyville and Williamsburg County, also serves as a board member of the South Carolina Bankers Association, and is a Past President of the Pee Dee Chapter of the Association of Independent Banks; and
Whereas, Mr. Jonte and his lovely wife, Virginia, reside in Greeleyville. They have three children, Tracy, Blakely and Margaret. The Jonte family are members of Greeleyville United Methodist Church where he also serves as Chairman of the Administrative Council. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives hereby recognize and congratulate Leonard L. Jonte of Greeleyville and the Officers and Directors of the Bank of Greeleyville, on the occasion of Leonard L. Jonte being named 1999 President of the Independent Banks of South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Leonard L. Jonte of Greeleyville.
