The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark, as follows:

Our Father God, we confess that we live in times when men are fearful of the future. We often become faint because our faith in God becomes weak. In our weakness, support us with Your strength. Open our eyes to see higher values and things of eternal worth. We are thankful for Your never failing help to all who will accept it in faith. "Lord, increase our faith." Be for us our constant Companion, wherever we go; whatever we do. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.

The following Bill was taken up, read the third time, and ordered sent to the Senate:

Smith and Tripp: A BILL TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-280, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF VOTING PRECINCTS AND POLLING PLACES IN GREENVILLE COUNTY, SO AS TO CHANGE CERTAIN POLLING PLACES, AND DESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER ON WHICH LINES OF PRECINCTS ARE DELINEATED AND MAINTAINED BY THE DIVISION OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICAL SERVICES OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD.

At 10:10 a.m. the House in accordance with the ruling of the SPEAKER adjourned to meet at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, April 4.
