Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark, as follows:

O God, the Source and Inspiration of the true, the beautiful and the good, show us how to bring our highest impulses and noblest desires to fulfillment and fruition. Discipline our wayward desires and perverse tendencies to yield to Your way. May our wills be more finely tempered that when desperate needs come we might conduct ourselves according to Your way, strong and steadfast. May we open wide the windows of our souls to be penetrated by the light of Your truths. Show us how to extinguish the hot embers of ill-will, jealousy, and selfishness. Make us vehicles of Your gracious and Fatherly will. "Your will be done" we pray. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.

At 10:05 A.M. the House in accordance with the ruling of the SPEAKER adjourned to meet at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, March 30.
