The House assembled at 12:00 Noon.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark, as follows:
Remain with us, Lord God, throughout this day, and every day, that we may be strong enough that nothing can disturb our peace of mind. Look at the sunny side of life, and make our optimism come true. Work only for the best that the best may be accomplished. To be as enthusiastic at the success of others as we are about our own. Forget our mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements in the future. Give so much effort to improvements of ourselves that we have no time to criticize others. To be too occupied for worry, too noble to hold a grudge and too thankful to harbor troubles in our lives. Lord, in Your mercy, hear this, our prayer. Amen.
Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by the SPEAKER.
After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of Friday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
Rep. Davenport moved that when the House adjourns, it adjourn in memory of Danny E. Bridgeman II of Spartanburg, which was agreed to.
On motion of Rep. COOPER, with unanimous consent, the following were taken up for immediate consideration and accepted:

Speaker Wilkins stated that the amendment attempted to amend a line in the Joint Resolution on the present language in the Constitution that refers to the election of officers of the House and he, therefore, overruled the Point of Order.
Rep. CAMPSEN continued speaking.
The amendment was then adopted.
