TO AUTHORIZE THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2000, TO TRANSFER OWNERSHIP OF A SURPLUS NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY IN YORK, SOUTH CAROLINA, TO YORK COUNTY.
Whereas, the National Guard Armory located on Stoney Brook Drive in York, South Carolina, is currently vacant; and
Whereas, the State Military Department has relocated the National Guard unit previously headquartered at this armory and has declared this property surplus to its current needs; and
Whereas, a replacement site is neither an issue nor necessary because the military department is unable to forecast a need for such a site. Now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 25-1-1660 of the 1976 Code, the State Budget and Control Board effective July 1, 2000, is authorized to transfer ownership of a surplus National Guard Armory located on Stoney Brook Drive in York, South Carolina, to York County.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
