A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, RELATING TO RELOCATION OF DISPLACED PERSONS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2472, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The regulations of the Department of Transportation, relating to relocation of displaced persons, designated as Regulation Document Number 2472, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED

BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation proposes to amend its regulations concerning relocation of displaced persons, 63-321 and 63-322, to conform with current federal regulations and set forth a new procedure for review and appeal of relocation assistance eligibility decisions. Under the new procedures, an initial review would be conducted by the SCDOT Executive Director and an appeal to the Administrative Law Judge Division could be taken from the executive director's decision.
