EXPLANATION OF IMPACT:
The State Department of Education (SDE) indicates that enactment of this bill would have no impact on the General Fund of the State, nor on federal and/or other funds. Any costs associated with enactment would be covered by the local school district.
SPECIAL NOTES:
Williamsburg County has nine board members (including the chairman) and usually meets once a month. Therefore, the impact on local school districts funds can be estimated at $5,700 annually.

TO AMEND ACT 295 OF 1985, RELATING TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SO AS TO REVISE THE PER DIEM MEMBERS OF THE BOARD RECEIVE FOR EACH MEETING.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 3 of Act 632 of 1980, as last amended by Act 295 of 1985, is further amended to read:
"Section 3. No member of the board of trustees may receive a salary but shall receive a per diem of fifty one hundred dollars for each meeting with the chairman receiving seventy-five one hundred fifty dollars for each meeting. The members of the board shall also receive mileage and subsistence as provided by law for members of boards, committees, and commissions, but the mileage may not exceed twenty cents a mile."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
