TO FIX TWELVE NOON ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 29, 2002, AS THE TIME CERTAIN FOR ELECTING SUCCESSORS TO THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION FROM THE FIRST, SECOND, THIRD, FOURTH, FIFTH, SIXTH, AND AT-LARGE DISTRICTS SO AS TO FILL TERMS WHICH WILL EXPIRE JUNE 30, 2002.
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the Senate and the House Representatives meet in joint assembly in the Hall of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at noon to elect successors to the Honorable William Saunders, Public Service Commissioner for the First Congressional District, whose term expires June 30, 2002; the Honorable James Blake Atkins, Public Service Commissioner for the Second Congressional District, whose term expires June 30, 2002; the Honorable Randy Mitchell, Public Service Commissioner for the Third Congressional District, whose term expires June 30, 2002; the Honorable Philip T. Bradley, Public Service Commissioner for the Fourth Congressional District, whose term expires June 30, 2002; the Honorable H. Clay Carruth, Jr., Public Service Commissioner for the Fifth Congressional District, whose term expires June 30, 2002; the Honorable Mignon L. Clyburn, Public Service Commissioner for the Sixth Congressional District, whose term expires June 30, 2002; and the Honorable C. Robert Moseley, Public Service Commissioner Statewide at large, whose term expires June 30, 2002.
Be it further resolved that all nominations for the office in each election must be made by the chairman of the screening committee and that no further nominating or seconding speeches may be made by members of the General Assembly on behalf of any candidate.
