TO AMEND SECTION 59-103-10, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE STATE COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION, SO AS TO ADD ONE NONVOTING AT-LARGE MEMBER APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR UPON THE ADVICE AND CONSENT OF THE SENATE TO REPRESENT THE GREENWOOD GENETIC CENTER ON THE COMMISSION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 59-103-10 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 359 of 1996, is further amended by adding a new item (5) to read:
"(5) One at-large member appointed by the Governor upon the advice and consent of the Senate to represent the Greenwood Genetic Center on the commission. This member must be appointed for a term of four years and until his successor is appointed and qualifies and shall serve as a nonvoting member."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
