TO AMEND SECTION 56-1-745, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE SUSPENSION OF A PERSON'S DRIVER'S LICENSE DUE TO A CONVICTION FOR A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE VIOLATION, AND THE ISSUANCE A OF SPECIAL RESTRICTED DRIVER'S LICENSE UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES, SO AS TO INCREASE THE FEE FOR A SPECIAL RESTRICTED DRIVER'S LICENSE AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE DISBURSEMENT OF THE FEE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 56-1-745(C)(3) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 421 of 1992, is further amended to read:
"(3) The fee for each special restricted driver's license, including a reissue caused by changes in the place and hours of employment, education, or residence, is twenty one hundred dollars. Twenty dollars of this fee must be deposited in the state general fund and eighty dollars must be retained by the department."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
