TO COMMEND THE JASPER COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY FOR THE PUBLICATION AND OUTSTANDING SUCCESS OF ITS BOOK, "REFLECTIONS: A PICTORIAL HISTORY OF JASPER COUNTY".
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are pleased to learn that the Jasper County Historical Society published a book entitled "Reflections: A Pictorial History of Jasper County". The first edition sold out within several days and the second edition also sold out on a preorder basis; and
Whereas, the publication of this book is a credit not only to the people of Jasper County but to those members of the Historical Society who were instrumental in its development; and
Whereas, playing a key role in this outstanding pictorial history were Debbie Pinckney, president of the Historical Society during the time the book was published, project director Rita Williams Livingston, consultants Alva Norris Dean and Elizabeth M. Nettles, and committee members Daphne J. Floyd, Harold Guerry, Nancy Guerry, Mary Caroline Highsmith, Honey Johnson, Wofford Malphrus, Punkin Moser, Virginia Ryan, and Betty Smith; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate the Historical Society, its members, and the citizens of Jasper County for the development and publication of a book that honors and records the heritage of this special part of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly commend the Jasper County Historical Society for the publication and outstanding success of its book, "Reflections: A Pictorial History of Jasper County".
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Wofford Malphrus, President, Jasper County Historical Society.
