A JOINT RESOLUTION TO ADOPT REVISED CODE VOLUME 13, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, TO THE EXTENT OF ITS CONTENTS, AS THE ONLY GENERAL PERMANENT STATUTORY LAW OF THE STATE AS OF JANUARY 1, 2002.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Code Commissioner to revise volume
SECTION 1. (A) Section 2-13-90 of the 1976 Code authorizes the Legislative Council and the Code Commissioner to contract to be prepared and published under their supervision and direction revised volumes of the Code of Laws when, in their judgment, the supplement of any volume becomes too bulky for convenient use.
(B) The Legislative Council and the Code Commissioner have determined that the cumulative supplement to Volume 13 has become too bulky for convenient use.
(C) Section 2-13-90 of the 1976 Code also provides that the revised volumes must be submitted to the General Assembly for its consideration.
Revised Volume 13 adopted
SECTION 2. (A) Revised Volume 13, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, containing Titles 37-38 is substituted for original Volume 13 containing the same titles.
(B) Revised Volume 13 is adopted as part of the Code of Laws and to the extent of its contents the only general permanent statutory law of the State as of January 1, 2002.
Time effective
SECTION 3. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
Ratified the 27th day of February, 2002.
Approved the 5th day of March, 2002.
