A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE THE DORMAN HIGH SCHOOL BLUE BELLES DANCE TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT THE CONTEST OF CHAMPIONS COMPETITION IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA AND TO WISH THEM MUCH SUCCESS IN THEIR FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the Dorman High School Blue Belles Dance Team performed in the Contest of Champions Competition in Orlando, Florida Saturday, March 2, 2002, and was named the National Grand Champion in the Pompon Division; and

Whereas, among the more than two hundred teams from across the country, the dynamic Dorman Dance Team also was awarded sixth place in the High Kick Division and fourth place in the Prop Division; and

Whereas, the Blue Belles received a superior rating in the Pompon, High Kick, and Prop Divisions; and

Whereas, the girls attended the Universal Dance Association 2001 Summer Camp where they received the overall highest score and first place in the Pompon Division, and the team had six all-star senior team members; and

Whereas, the Dorman Blue Belles have also performed at the Bill Drake Christmas Show at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are pleased to recognize the members of the Dorman Blue Belles Dance Team for their success. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate the Dorman High School Blue Belles Dance Team for their outstanding accomplishments at the Contest of Champions Competition in Orlando, Florida and wish them much success in their future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Dorman High School Dance Team.
