The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rep. LOFTIS as follows:
O Lord, teach us to pattern our lives in keeping with Your teachings. Grant us the hard discipline of waiting, not in passiveness or indifference, but waiting with open minds and wisdom that leads us to action. Enable us to hear clearly the words of the Psalmist: "Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord" (Psalm 27:14). Keep us in the shelter of Your love, being always "our refuge and strength." Amen.
