The Senate assembled at 11:00 A.M., the hour to which it stood adjourned, and was called to order by the ACTING PRESIDENT, Senator COURSON. (This is a special Statewide Session day established under the provisions of Senate Rule 1B. Members not having scheduled committee or subcommittee meetings may be in their home districts without effect on their session attendance record.)

INTRODUCTION OF BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS

The following was introduced:

S. 789 (Word version) -- Senator McConnell: A SENATE RESOLUTION TO EXPRESS THE DEEP PRIDE AND APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE TO ONE OF THE PALMETTO STATE'S FINEST, MRS. KATHLEEN WILSON OF CHARLESTON, ON THE OCCASION OF HER HISTORICAL CHALLENGE AUGUST 25, 2001, BY BECOMING THE FIRST SOUTH CAROLINIAN TO SWIM ACROSS THE ENGLISH CHANNEL.

The Senate Resolution was adopted.

MOTION ADOPTED

On motion of Senator RITCHIE, with unanimous consent, the Senate stood adjourned out of respect to the memory of Frederick G. Phillips, M.D. of Spartanburg, S.C.

ADJOURNMENT

At 12:30 P.M., on motion of Senator McCONNELL, under the provisions of S. 583, the Sine Die Resolution, the Senate adjourned Sine Die.
