A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 41-15-600, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT, MEMBERSHIP, AND DUTIES OF THE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REVIEW BOARD, SO AS TO DELETE THE PROHIBITION OF SERVICE ON THE BOARD AS CONSTITUTING CREDITABLE SERVICE IN THE SOUTH CAROLINA RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND TO UPDATE REFERENCES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 41-15-600(f) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 181 of 1993, is further amended to read:

"(f)    Compensation for members of the board, to the extent funds are appropriated for this purpose therefor by the General Assembly, shall must be set by regulation of the South Carolina Division of Labor Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation. Service on the board shall not be creditable service for purposes of the South Carolina Retirement System."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
