VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976 BY ADDING SECTION 5-25-60 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT MEETING HUTS CONSTRUCTED BY OR FOR THE USE OF THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA OR THE GIRL SCOUTS OF AMERICA ARE EXEMPT FROM COMPLIANCE WITH THE SOUTHERN BUILDING CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 1, Chapter 25 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 5-25-60. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, meeting huts constructed by or for the use of the Boy Scouts of America or Girl Scouts of America are exempt from compliance with the Southern Building Code."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
