VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND SECTION 16-11-700, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO LITTERING AND PENALTIES FOR LITTERING, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A PERSON WHO WITNESSES LITTERING MAY SWEAR OUT A WARRANT IN THE APPROPRIATE COURT TO INITIATE PROSECUTION OF THE OFFENDER.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 16-11-700 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 387 of 2000, is further amended by adding:
"(G) A person who witnesses a violation of this section may swear out a warrant in the appropriate court to initiate prosecution of the offender."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
