VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO COMMEND THE SPIRITED COMPETITION AND DEDICATION OF THE SUMMERVILLE HIGH SCHOOL GREEN WAVE VOLLEYBALL TEAM AND TO CONGRATULATE THE PLAYERS, COACHES, STAFF, AND OTHER OFFICIALS FOR THEIR 2002 CLASS AAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP WIN.
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are pleased to honor the Summerville High School Green Wave Volleyball Team for their dedication and determination throughout the season to win the 2002 Class AAAA State Championship; and
Whereas, the Green Wave finished the season with an exceptional record of twenty-four wins and only three losses; and hundreds of Green Wave fans, including former players from the last four years, made the trip to Columbia to watch Summerville capture its first state title since 1985; and
Whereas, the Green Wave has finished second in the State Championship game for the past four years; the Summerville team defeated back-to-back state champion Dorman three games to two to win this year's Class AAAA State Championship; and
Whereas, the members of the winning team include: Elizabeth Beckham, Nicole Fleming, Laura Glace, Kelly Gleffe, Jane Harris, Morgan King, Jamie Kirby, Tuesdie Lisenby, and Savannah Spearman; and
Whereas, Head Coach Teresa Kendle earned her second State Championship with the Green Wave win. She was assisted by manager and linesman Jessica Morris and scorekeeper Tim Skripps; and
Whereas, Coach Kendle boasts five hundred two career wins in the twenty-one seasons she has coached the Green Wave Volleyball Team; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are proud to recognize the hard work and enthusiasm of the Summerville High School Green Wave Volleyball Team. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives commend the spirited competition and dedication of the Summerville High School Green Wave Volleyball Team and congratulate the players, coaches, staff, and other officials for their 2002 Class AAAA State Championship win.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Summerville High School Green Wave Volleyball Team.
