VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND SECTION 1-11-720, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO ENTITIES WHOSE EMPLOYEES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR STATE HEALTH AND DENTAL INSURANCE PLANS, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS EMPLOYED BY A SCHOOL DISTRICT ARE CONSIDERED FULL-TIME SCHOOL DISTRICT EMPLOYEES FOR PURPOSES OF STATE HEALTH AND DENTAL INSURANCE PLANS REGARDLESS OF THE NUMBER OF HOURS ACTUALLY WORKED.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 1-11-720 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 377 of 2000, is further amended by adding:
"(D) School bus drivers employed by a school district are considered full-time school district employees for purposes of state health and dental insurance plans regardless of the number of hours actually worked."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
