VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
HONORING CARL SIMPSON OF SUMTER COUNTY AS THE GREATER SUMTER CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR 2002 IN RECOGNITION OF HIS DEDICATION TO HIS CUSTOMERS AND LOYALTY TO HIS EMPLOYEES.
Whereas, Carl Simpson of Sumter County understands the importance of service to his customers at Simpson's Hardware; and
Whereas, his relationships with his customers and his insistence that they be treated knowledgeably and well are the keys to his success in the face of competition from worldwide mega stores; and
Whereas, Simpson also demonstrates a rare and profound commitment to his employees, whose well-being was actually his first concern when the hardware store was destroyed by fire two years ago; and
Whereas, he refused to allow either his customers or his employees to suffer from the business tragedy; and
Whereas, he fought back from misfortune to open a thriving brand new store and to continue the forty-two year Sumter tradition of Simpson's Hardware. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina hereby honor Carl Simpson of Sumter County as the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year 2002 in recognition of his dedication to his customers and loyalty to his employees.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Carl Simpson.
