A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE EAGLE SCOUT AARON CUNNINGHAM OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, ON HAVING EARNED THE PRESTIGIOUS EAGLE SCOUT BADGE, COMMEND HIM FOR HIS HARD WORK, PERSEVERANCE, AND MANY ACHIEVEMENTS WHILE EARNING THE HIGHEST AWARD IN SCOUTING, AND WISH HIM EVERY SUCCESS IN ALL OF HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Aaron Cunningham, formerly of Aiken, began his journey to become an Eagle Scout as a Tiger Cub in the rechartered Pack 146 in 1993 when he was in the first grade. He became a Boy Scout in 1998 when he joined Troop 146 in Aiken. While living the Scout Oath and Law in his daily life, he thereafter progressed through the ranks from Tenderfoot to Eagle Scout; and

Whereas, Eagle Scout Cunningham attended many summer camps from Aiken to Lake Murray, Camp Daniel Boone in the North Carolina Mountains, and the Woodruff Scout Reservation in Georgia. At summer camps and on other occasions he took advantage of every opportunity and earned a remarkable forty-six merit badges, and a "50-Miler" award for a canoe trip, since becoming a Boy Scout; and

Whereas, Eagle Scout Cunningham held leadership positions in his troop, including patrol leader and chaplain aid. He also performed many hours of community service including, while working toward earning his Eagle badge, a food drive for children, which brought in six hundred pounds of food that was donated to the Area Churches Together Serving in Aiken; and

Whereas, Eagle Scout Cunningham recently moved to Longwood, Florida. He is on the A-B Honor Roll at school and is continuing scouting as an active member of Troop 203 in Longwood. His parents are Scott and Susie Cunningham, of Longwood, who are justly proud of their son for his dedication to scouting and helping others, for choosing to live the Scout Oath and Law in his daily life, and for all the hard work and dedication he put forth to earn the highest award in scouting. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate Boy Scout Aaron Cunningham of Aiken and Longwood, Florida, on receiving the prestigious Eagle Scout Badge, commend him for his hard work, perseverance, and many achievements while earning the highest award in scouting, and wish him every success in all of his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Eagle Scout Aaron Cunningham of Longwood, Florida.
