A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE ROBERT MATTHEW FREEMAN OF AIKEN ON RECEIVING THE PRESTIGIOUS EAGLE SCOUT BADGE, COMMEND HIM FOR HIS HARD WORK, PERSEVERANCE, AND MANY ACHIEVEMENTS WHILE EARNING THE HIGHEST AWARD IN SCOUTING, AND WISH HIM EVERY SUCCESS IN ALL OF HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Boy Scout Robert Freeman of Aiken began his scouting career as a Cub Scout in Troop 115 in 1993, continued as a member of Boy Scout Troop 115 for more than seven years, and has earned the prestigious and coveted Eagle Scout Badge, the highest award in scouting; and

Whereas, as an active member of Boy Scout Troop 115, Scout Robert Freeman attended troop meetings faithfully, attended the Boy Scout Jamboree in 2001, held a leadership position of patrol leader for Troop 1502, and performed or participated in numerous individual or troop service projects in the community, including two summer sessions with "Home Works" helping the needy and underprivileged of South Carolina; and

Whereas, Scout Robert Freeman, while progressing steadily through the ranks of scouting, demonstrated that he lived by the principles of the Scout Oath and Law in his daily life. He earned thirty merit badges in his quest for the coveted Eagle Scout Badge and also earned the Eagle Bronze Palm Award. He built seven tables of treated lumber for the student area of the Commons at South Aiken High School as his Eagle project. He is an excellent student and plans to attend the University of South Carolina and major in Civil Engineering. Scout Robert Freeman has also worked for the past two years and played football at South Aiken High School. The son of Richard and Valerie Freeman, Scout Robert Freeman is a source of pride to his troop, his parents, and to all who know and have had the pleasure of working and serving with him throughout his scouting career. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate Robert Matthew Freeman of Aiken on receiving the prestigious Eagle Scout Badge, commend him for his hard work, perseverance, and many achievements while earning the highest award in scouting, and wish him every success in all of his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Robert Matthew Freeman of Aiken.
