VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE KELLY McCORKLE FOR HER WONDERFUL REIGN AS MISS SOUTH CAROLINA 2002, AND TO WISH HER EVERY SUCCESS IN THE FUTURE AS HER REIGN COMES TO A CLOSE.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are extremely proud of Kelly McCorkle, Miss South Carolina 2002, whose reign has brought much praise and credit not only upon her but upon the State of South Carolina as well; and
Whereas, this talented young woman is a native of Greenville, is a graduate of North Greenville College, and after her reign would like to pursue a career in public relations; and
Whereas, she won the Miss South Carolina contest through a combination of obvious natural beauty, outstanding talent in the field of ballet, and her care and concern for the learning disabled; and
Whereas, these attributes served her well in the Miss America contest in Atlantic City where she finished as one of the top fifteen contestants; and
Whereas, her scholastic honors include being a cum laude graduate, national dean's list for three years, State Life Scholarship recipient for two years, and a North Greenville College Honors Program participant; and
Whereas, she is a member of the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Learning Disabilities Association, is a Volunteer of the Year at the Phyllis Wheatley Community Center, was the overall commercial winner at the American Model and Talent Convention, and has danced in New York with the Alvin Ailey and Joffrey Ballets; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to congratulate this amazing and talented young woman for a tremendous reign as Miss South Carolina 2002 and thank her for being such a great ambassador for South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly congratulate Kelly McCorkle for her wonderful reign as Miss South Carolina 2002 and wish her every success in the future as her reign comes to a close.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Kelly McCorkle, Miss South Carolina 2002.
