VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 10-1-210 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A PERSON, ENTITY, ORGANIZATION, OR CORPORATION THAT SPONSORS AN EVENT ON STATE-OWNED PROPERTY OR LEASES STATE-OWNED PROPERTY MAY ASSUME THE RESPONSIBILITY OF PROVIDING SUFFICIENT LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO PROTECT AND SECURE THE PROPERTY DURING THE EVENT OR FOR THE DURATION OF THE LEASE AGREEMENT.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 1, Title 10 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 10-1-210. Notwithstanding another provision of law, a person, entity, organization, or corporation that sponsors an event on state-owned property or leases state-owned property may assume the responsibility of providing sufficient law enforcement officers to protect and secure the property during the event or for the duration of the lease agreement."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
