A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 6-9-55 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT ANY CHANGES ADOPTED TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA BUILDING CODE BY THE SOUTH CAROLINA BUILDING CODE COUNCIL AS A RESULT OF REVISIONS SUGGESTED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CODE COUNCIL ARE DEEMED TO BE INCORPORATED INTO THE BUILDING CODE AT THAT TIME AND DO NOT HAVE TO BE READOPTED IN SUBSEQUENT YEARS UNLESS CHANGES THEREIN ARE SUBSEQUENTLY RECOMMENDED.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Chapter 9, Title 6 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 6-9-55.    Any changes adopted to the South Carolina Building Code by the South Carolina Building Code Council as a result of revisions suggested by the International Code Council are deemed to be incorporated into the building code at that time and do not have to be readopted in subsequent years unless changes therein are subsequently recommended."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
