AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-230, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF VOTING PRECINCTS IN DORCHESTER COUNTY, SO AS TO REVISE AND RENAME CERTAIN VOTING PRECINCTS IN DORCHESTER COUNTY, REDESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER FOR THE MAP ON WHICH LINES OF THESE PRECINCTS ARE DELINEATED AND MAINTAINED BY THE OFFICE OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICS OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD, AND CORRECT CERTAIN REFERENCES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Dorchester County precincts, map redesignated

SECTION    1.    Section 7-7-230 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 238 of 1996, is further amended to read:

"Section 7-7-230.    (A)    In Dorchester County there are the following voting precincts:

(B)    The precinct lines defining the above precincts are as shown on maps filed with the Office of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board designated as document P-35-04 and as shown on certified copies provided to the State Election Commission and the Dorchester County Board of Elections and Registration by the office.

(C)    The polling places for the precincts provided in this section must be established by the Dorchester County Board of Elections and Registration."

Time effective

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect July 1, 2004.

Ratified the 2nd day of March, 2004.

Approved the 5th day of March, 2004.
