A JOINT RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE THAT SCHOOL DAYS MISSED ON JANUARY 26, 27, AND 28, 2004, BY THE STUDENTS OF A SCHOOL IN THE CHESTERFIELD COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT WHEN THE SCHOOL WAS CLOSED DUE TO ICE OR INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

School days forgiven

SECTION    1.    Pursuant to the provisions of Section 59-1-430(B) of the 1976 Code, school days missed on January 26, 27, and 28, 2004, by the students of a school in the Chesterfield County School District when the school was closed due to ice or inclement weather conditions are exempted from the make-up requirement that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.

Time effective

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

Ratified the 24th day of March, 2004.

Approved the 26th day of March, 2004.
