A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE DR. KAREN WOODWARD, LEXINGTON SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE SUPERINTENDENT, ON RECEIVING THE 2004 "TECH-SAVVY SUPERINTENDENT" AWARD FROM eSCHOOL NEWS AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO HER IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that we recognize South Carolinians who are dedicated to giving their time and energy to helping build a sense of togetherness and developing young minds in their communities; and

Whereas, it is appropriate to recognize the great achievements of those who work within our public school system and to encourage these individuals who continue to inspire children year after year; and

Whereas, Dr. Karen Woodward, Lexington School District One Superintendent is one of only ten superintendents nationwide to receive the 2004 "Tech-Savvy Superintendent" Award from eSchool News, the nation's only education technology newspaper; and

Whereas, each recipient of the "Tech-Savvy Superintendent" Award demonstrated exceptional vision in developing and implementing a district-wide technology plan; and

Whereas, nominated by her peers, Dr. Woodward is an example for the Palmetto State's public education system as a whole and her hard work and dedication are apparent in everything that she does; and

Whereas, Dr. Woodward brings great pride to her family, her peers, the members of the General Assembly, and the great State of South Carolina and we are honored to have her as one of our own. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly honor and recognize Dr. Karen Woodward, Lexington School District One Superintendent, on receiving the 2004 "Tech-Savvy Superintendent" Award from eSchool News and to extend best wishes to her in all of her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Karen Woodward, Lexington School District One Superintendent.
