VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO HONOR AND CONGRATULATE ADAM ELLIS WEEKS OF COLLETON COUNTY ON BEING AWARDED THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT BY THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA ON MAY 15, 2004, AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO HIM IN ALL OF HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout requires hard work and extreme determination, yet the achievement is a great honor for those who attain it; and
Whereas, Adam Ellis Weeks, the son of Boyd and Ki Weeks, is to be awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in a court of honor on May 15, 2004, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Walterboro; and
Whereas, a member of Troop 686 which is sponsored by the Bethel Methodist Church in Walterboro, Mr. Weeks is also a 2003 graduate of Colleton High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Vocational Technical Honor Society; and
Whereas, upon graduation from Colleton High School, Mr. Weeks entered the University of South Carolina at Aiken where he intends to pursue a double business major; and
Whereas, on his route to becoming an Eagle Scout, Mr. Weeks organized a group of ten youths to make child ID's at the Colleton County Relay, which could become useful in situations like child disappearance. The group made seventy-eight ID's for the event; and
Whereas, in addition to his Eagle Scout project, Mr. Weeks has earned forty merit badges and was a member of the Order of the Arrow; and
Whereas, Adam Weeks is an example of a humanitarian whose goal is not only to better himself through his work with the Boy Scouts, but also to better his community, and the Palmetto State is proud to call him one of its own. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor and congratulate Adam Ellis Weeks on being awarded the rank of Eagle Scout by the Boy Scouts of America on May 15, 2004, and extend best wishes to him in all of his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Adam Weeks of Colleton County.
