Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr. as follows:

Our thought for today is from Psalm 46:7: "The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress."
Let us pray. In confidence we place our trust in You, O Lord, just as children look to a loving parent for care and keeping. Keep us this day in a good and Godly pattern that we may lift someone's spirit, share another's burden or relieve another's pain. We pray in the name of the Holy God who created and sustains us all. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.

At 10:10 a.m. the House in accordance with the ruling of the SPEAKER adjourned to meet at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, February 4.
