The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr. as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalms 69: "Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck."
Let us pray. Gracious Father, help us remember when we are up to our necks, that You are there to pull us out. At the acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of Your steadfast love, answer us. With Your faithful help, rescue us from sinking. Strengthen us to do the business of the people who have called us here. We pray for the safety of these people, protect them. Hear our prayer. Amen.
