A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE MR. RICHARD WASHINGTON OF DARLINGTON COUNTY ON THE REMARKABLE OCCASION OF HIS ONE HUNDRED ELEVENTH BIRTHDAY AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED GOOD HEALTH AND MUCH HAPPINESS IN THE YEARS TO COME.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate were very pleased to learn that Mr. Richard Washington celebrated his one hundred eleventh birthday on April 13, 2004; and

Whereas, the members of the Senate are honored to recognize this very special day on which Mr. Richard Washington celebrated one hundred eleven years of a full and wonderful life; and

Whereas, Mr. Washington was born on April 13, 1893, and has witnessed the introduction of modern day miracles that include household electricity and airplanes; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, would like to extend to Mr. Washington their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on this wonderful occasion. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate recognize Mr. Richard Washington of Darlington County on the remarkable occasion of his one hundred eleventh birthday and wish him continued good health and much happiness in the years to come.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Richard Washington.
