A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND SOUTH CAROLINA'S FFA MEMBERS, THEIR ADVISORS, SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS, PARENTS, AND ALL WHO SUPPORT THESE OUTSTANDING STUDENTS OF AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION ON THE OCCASION OF NATIONAL FFA WEEK, FEBRUARY 21-28, 2004.

Whereas, the FFA Organization, formerly known as the Future Farmers of America, is a national agricultural organization of nearly five hundred thousand middle school, high school, technical college, and university students; and

Whereas, the FFA Organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education at the local, state, and national levels; and

Whereas, nationally, more than seventy-five percent of FFA members enroll in a higher education degree program following graduation from high school in preparation for one of the more than three hundred career opportunities in the science, business, or technology of agriculture or one of every six jobs in the United States; and

Whereas, the South Carolina FFA Organization and the agricultural education programs in South Carolina are tremendously successful and extremely valuable in improving the quality of life for South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly hereby recognize and commend South Carolina FFA members, their advisors, school administrators, parents, and all who support these outstanding students of agricultural education on the occasion of National FFA Week, February 21-28, 2004.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the appropriate South Carolina FFA officials.
