TO PROVIDE THAT SCHOOL DAYS MISSED ON FEBRUARY 12, 2004, AND FEBRUARY 26 AND 27, 2004, BY THE STUDENTS OF A SCHOOL IN CHEROKEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 1 WHEN THE SCHOOL WAS CLOSED DUE TO A WATER MAIN BREAK AND SNOW, ICE, OR INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS, RESPECTIVELY, ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 59-1-430(B) of the 1976 Code, school days missed on February 12, 2004, and February 26 and 27, 2004, by the students of a school in Cherokee County School District No. 1 when the school was closed due to a water main break and snow, ice, or inclement weather conditions, respectively, are exempted from the make-up requirement that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
