RECOGNIZING JEREMY LONGSHORE OF BROOME HIGH SCHOOL IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY ON HIS RECORD-SETTING CHAMPIONSHIP POLE VAULT EFFORT OF 15' 6" IN THE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE 3A TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, Jeremy Longshore of Broome High School in Spartanburg County has been pole vaulting since the seventh grade; and
Whereas, after years of practice and perfecting his skill, he moved from third in the State his freshman and sophomore years, to runner-up his junior year, to state champion in 2004; and
Whereas, his record-setting 15'6" vault for the state title matched his Broome High School record, and the four-time Spartanburg County champ holds the county record at 15'2"; and
Whereas, Jeremy leaves the Broome High School track team, his home for the past six years, to vault for Gardner-Webb University's team. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, extend their congratulations to Jeremy Longshore of Broome High School in Spartanburg County on his record-setting championship pole vault effort of 15' 6" in the South Carolina State 3A Track and Field Championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Jeremy Longshore.
