A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE DEATH OF EDWARD ZOMERFELD OF COLUMBIA ON TUESDAY, MAY 25, 2004, AND TO CONVEY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Edward "EZ" Zomerfeld of Columbia was a lover of music and he devoted his life to music until his death at age fifty-eight on Tuesday, May 25, 2004; and

Whereas, born in Vienna, Austria, Mr. Zomerfeld was the son of Edward J. Zomerfeld and the late Theresa Pempcsak Zomerfeld; and

Whereas, a radio personality and club DJ in the music industry, Mr. Zomerfeld was able to fulfill his childhood dream of working in the music business surrounded by all types of music, his personal favorite music being Beach and Shag music; and

Whereas, Mr. Zomerfeld's death brings great sorrow and loss to not only the members of the South Carolina music industry, but also to the members of the Columbia community as well, as he touched so many lives through his own; and

Whereas, Mr. Edward "EZ" Zomerfeld is survived by his father, Edward J. Zomerfeld, of Columbia, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the death of Edward "EZ" Zomerfeld of Columbia on Tuesday, May 25, 2004, and convey their deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Edward J. Zomerfeld of Columbia.
