TO THANK AND RECOGNIZE THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF TONY AND ADELINE GROSS OF HAMPTON COUNTY, WHO USED WBHC (WE BUILD HAMPTON COUNTY) RADIO STATION WHICH THEY HAVE OWNED AND USED TO ADVOCATE POSITIVE IDEAS FOR THE COUNTY.
Whereas, Carl Anthony "Tony" Gross and his wife, Adeline Killingsworth Gross came to Hampton County thirty-seven years ago; and
Whereas, Tony has unselfishly served his community by being active and participating in Radiothon for St. Jude's Kids; 4-H Club; Hampton County Watermelon Festival; Adopt-A-Highway on the state and local level; South Carolina Broadcasters Association on reporting Hurricane Hugo; Best June Dairy Month Promoter; Literacy Council of Hampton County; American Cancer Society Relay for Life; Girl Scouts; United States Army Reserve Recruiting Support; Rotary Club Radio Auction; Brunson Lions Club Promotion; and broadcasting Wade Hampton High School, Estill High School, and Patrick Henry Academy football games for thirty-seven years; and
Whereas, Tony has been an active member of the Jaycees until the organization dissolved; and
Whereas, Tony served on the Lowcountry Tourism Board and served as a Rotary Club member for twenty-five years; and
Whereas, he served on the Hampton Town Council for six years; and
Whereas, Tony enjoys sports at the collegiate level being an avid Clemson Tiger fan; and
Whereas, although Tony and Adeline have recently sold WBHC, they will remain in the Hampton County area giving continuity and offering a wealth of leadership and knowledge to the citizens of Hampton County. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representative wish to thank and recognize the contributions of Tony and Adeline Gross of Hampton County, who used WBHC (We Build Hampton County) Radio Station which they have owned and used to advocate positive ideas for the county.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Tony and Adeline Gross.
