A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE WILSON HALL BOYS BASEBALL TEAM OF SUMTER FOR WINNING THE 2004 SCISA AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO WISH THE MEMBERS OF THIS WINNING TEAM MUCH SUCCESS IN THEIR FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives were pleased to learn that the Wilson Hall Boys Baseball Team defeated Robert E. Lee on Thursday, May 13, 2004, to win the 2004 SCISA AAA Baseball Championship; and

Whereas, the Wilson Hall Barons defeated the Cavaliers 7-2 at Francis Marion University's Clifford S. Cormell Field to mark their first state title since 2001; and

Whereas, under the leadership of head coach Tommy Jones, the Barons finished this outstanding season with a record of eighteen wins and ten losses; and

Whereas, the Wilson Hall players comported themselves with distinction and good sportsmanship in this championship and in the regular season and playoffs, a tribute to their athletic skills, good character, and the stellar coaching; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and commend this outstanding group of young athletes and their fine coaching staff upon the occasion of their winning this truly deserved championship. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Wilson Hall Boys Baseball Team of Sumter for winning the 2004 SCISA State Championship title and wish the members of this winning team much success in their future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Wilson Hall Boys Baseball Team.
