TO RECOGNIZE IRMO'S LAKEWOOD CHURCH AND THE NORTHWEST YMCA FOR HOSTING THE GREAT IRMO EGG HUNT AND FOR ILLUMINATING THE TRUE REASON TO CELEBRATE EASTER.

Whereas, the Great Irmo Egg Hunt has become a tradition that children and adults of all ages anxiously await each Easter morning; and
Whereas, participants can win prizes including savings bonds from Palmetto Citizen's Federal Credit Union, gift cards to local stores, enormous Easter baskets filled with Spring treats, and other adult prizes, as well as the candy, stickers, and small prizes that are stuffed into each egg; and
Whereas, each year the Great Irmo Egg Hunt grows bigger and better as there will be between forty and fifty thousand eggs hidden, over one thousand prizes donated by thirty-one enthusiastic sponsors, and live music for entertainment; and
Whereas, as the egg hunters search for the eggs and prizes, they learn about the Easter story through words, pictures, and props set up around the field; and
Whereas, the Great Irmo Egg Hunt is a family fun event anticipated each year and enjoyed by all, and children and adults leave happily with eggs, prizes, memories, and the true meaning of Easter. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize Irmo's Lakewood Church and the Northwest YMCA for hosting the Great Irmo Egg Hunt and for illuminating the true reason to celebrate Easter.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Irmo's Lakewood Church and the Northwest YMCA.
