A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO WELCOME LILLIAN BROCK FLEMMING, MAYOR PRO TEMPORE OF THE CITY OF GREENVILLE, IN HER ROLE AS 2004 PRESIDENT OF THE MUNICIPAL ASSOCIATION OF SOUTH CAROLINA, TO THE STATE HOUSE AS SHE REPRESENTS THE HUNDREDS OF MAYORS AND COUNCIL MEMBERS ON FEBRUARY 18, 2004, "SOUTH CAROLINA HOMETOWN DAY".

Whereas, Lillian Brock Flemming is Mayor Pro Tempore of the City of Greenville in Greenville County; and

Whereas, her Greenville neighbors are proud that she has been selected President of the Municipal Association of South Carolina for 2004; and

Whereas, one of her responsibilities in that role is to represent the 1,584 mayors and council members of the 269 incorporated municipalities in this State; and

Whereas, it is an honor to join the citizens of Greenville in recognizing Lillian Brock Flemming for her efforts on behalf of the citizens of the State's towns and cities. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, welcome Lillian Brock Flemming, Mayor Pro Tempore of the City of Greenville, in her role as 2004 President of the Municipal Association of South Carolina, as she represents the hundreds of mayors and council members on February 18, 2004, "South Carolina Hometown Day".

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Lillian Brock Flemming, Mayor Pro Tempore.
