A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 30-1-190 SO AS TO REQUIRE A PUBLIC BODY UNDER THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A PROCEDURE FOR THE DELETION OF ELECTRONICALLY RETRIEVABLE ON-LINE PERSONAL FINANCIAL INFORMATION INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PERSONAL AND REAL PROPERTY TAXES AND AMOUNTS OF MORTGAGES RELATING TO THE PROPERTY LISTED.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Chapter 1, Title 30 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 30-1-190.    A public body shall provide a procedure for the deletion of electronically retrievable on-line personal financial information including, but not limited to, real or personal property taxes and amounts of mortgages relating to the property listed."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
