A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND CELEBRATE THE SIXTY-FIRST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY OF MR. AND MRS. CLAYTON SELLERS OF MARION COUNTY AND TO WISH THEM BOTH MANY MORE YEARS OF MARITAL BLISS IN THE FUTURE.

Whereas, the longevity of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Sellers of Marion County is certainly an occasion worthy of celebration and sets the standard we should all be so fortunate to achieve; and

Whereas, the attributes of a good marriage are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, and the sixty-one year marriage of this lovely couple is a testament to a good marriage; and

Whereas, for sixty-one years, Mr. and Mrs. Sellers have expressed their true, everlasting love and affection for one another while experiencing both the exciting and the more challenging times that they have encountered during their life together; and

Whereas, Mr. Sellers has been a businessman for over fifty years in Marion, and while providing for his family, he also gave back to the community by selflessly mentoring so many young men in his profession; and

Whereas, Mr. and Mrs. Sellers are also blessed with three children: Doris, Emily, and Clayton, Jr. and are proud to boast grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and

Whereas, it is with great honor that the members of the South Carolina Senate pause to acknowledge Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Sellers' lifetime of philanthropy, business leadership, and commitment to their community but most importantly to each other over the last sixty-one years. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor and celebrate the sixty-first Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Sellers and wish them both many more years of marital bliss in the future.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Sellers of Marion County.
