A HOUSE RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING THE RETURNING MEMBERS OF THE BEAUFORT ARMY NATIONAL GUARD FOR THEIR SERVICE AND SACRIFICE TO OUR STATE AND NATION.

Whereas, there is tremendous support in Beaufort for all its troops. On Saturday, February 5, 2005, the City is hosting an event to greet its returning soldiers and show its gratitude; and

Whereas, approximately one hundred and twenty Beaufort-based guardsmen from Troop B 202 Cavalry, South Carolina Army National Guard are returning from various duties in support of troops sent to Iraq; and

Whereas, although guard members were forced to leave their families, careers, and civilian pursuits behind, several volunteered for a second deployment to support the effort in Iraq at this critical time; and

Whereas, this type of service, loyalty, and commitment to our nation is highly commendable, and the members of the House are proud to offer their gratitude in recognition of the guard members' service and sacrifice. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize the returning members of the Beaufort Army National Guard for their service and sacrifice to our State and Nation.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Troop B 202 Cavalry, South Carolina Army National Guard.
