VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE WACCAMAW HIGH SCHOOL "LADY WARRIORS" GIRLS TENNIS TEAM ON THEIR OUTSTANDING SEASON AND FOR CAPTURING THE CLASS A-AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THESE EXCEPTIONAL PLAYERS, COACHES, AND STAFF.
Whereas, the "Lady Warriors"of Waccamaw High School defeated Southside Christian High School 4-2 on Saturday, November 6, 2004, to capture the Class A-AA Championship Title; and
Whereas, Coaches James Brown and Browder McGill took over the "Lady Warriors" this season, and with grueling practices, hard work, and determination, the Waccamaw "Lady Warriors" experienced success; and
Whereas, this crowning victory caps an excellent season for the "Lady Warriors" with eighteen wins and only four losses; and
Whereas, members of this stellar team include Nora Bennani, Tyler Brabson, Megan Costin, Ashley Gaines, Keenan Grayson, Shelley Harper, Carrie Harper, Becca Harper, Callie Ligon, Christina Ling, Charlotte Myers, Chrissy Robertson, Liz Rowell, Allison Stanford, Jessica Tiller, Hannah Whitehead, and Chandler Witt; and
Whereas, Callie Ligon, Liz Rowell, and Allison Stanford were selected to compete in the State Singles Tournament held in November in Columbia; and
Whereas, these ladies and their coaches of Waccamaw High School deserve accolades for their incredible season and Championship win; and
Whereas, the "Lady Warriors" have brought great pride and recognition to their school and community, and the members of the General Assembly are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize such a wonderful group of young women. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Waccamaw High School "Lady Warriors" Girls Tennis Team on their outstanding season and for capturing the Class A-AA State Championship Title, and honor these exceptional players, coaches, and staff.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Waccamaw High School "Lady Warriors" Tennis Team and Coaches James Brown and Browder McGill.
