A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE WANDO HIGH SCHOOL "LADY WARRIORS" GIRLS TENNIS TEAM OF BERKLEY COUNTY ON THEIR 2004 STATE AAAA CHAMPIONSHIP, AND HONORING THE TEAM MEMBERS AND COACH REBECCA WILLIAMSON ON THEIR EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.

Whereas, the "Lady Warriors" of Wando High School defeated Spartanburg High School 4-2 on Saturday, November 6, 2004, to capture the Class AAAA State Title; and

Whereas, the team finished with an outstanding 19-1 record and, along the way, piled up wins over Porter Gaud, Bishop England, and Irmo, all team firsts; and

Whereas, the "Lady Warriors" also participated in tournaments on Daniel Island and at the Belton Hall of Fame Classic; and

Whereas, members of this stellar team include Elizabeth Spelman, Jessica Diamond, Jordan Kelly, Megan Maness, Hagan Edgerton, Amanda Mitchell, Stephanie Mitchell, Lauren Holmes, Samantha Eppelsheimer, Polly Poulnot, Jessica Jefferson, Brooke Mosteller, Kori Hale, Anne Taylor Allen, Taylor Langford, Kacey Hale, Lauren Rodriquez, Stephanie Jean Lenes, Whitney Smith, Jessica Jantzi, Landon Chitty, Laura Jett, Jordan Lesemann, Brett Fornell, Emily Bond, Danielle Dickson, Alicia Dickson, Corin Hallman, and Mallory Verner; and

Whereas, this young team has exemplified dedication and determination throughout the season while achieving all its goals; and

Whereas, these young women and their coaches deserve accolades for their incredible season and championship win; and

Whereas, the "Lady Warriors" have brought great pride and recognition to their school and community, and the members of the General Assembly are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize them. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Wando High School "Lady Warriors" Girls Tennis Team on their 2004 State AAAA Championship Title, and honor the team members and coach Rebecca Williamson on their exceptional season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Head Coach Rebecca Williamson on behalf of the championship team.
