VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO WELCOME HOME HERBERT L. JONES OF COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA, FROM HIS TOUR OF DUTY IN IRAQ AND TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST RESPECT AND ADMIRATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR THE SACRIFICES HE MADE IN SERVICE TO OUR NATION AND THE PEOPLE OF IRAQ.
Whereas, Herbert L. Jones of Columbia, South Carolina, and the rest of the dedicated men and women who serve in our armed forces, as well as their families and friends, have made great sacrifices and have endured many hardships in their service to this country and in their efforts to free the people of Iraq from tyranny; and
Whereas, Mr. Jones, Staff Sergeant in the United States Army Reserves, is to be commended for conducting himself with unyielding loyalty and dedication to the United States of America during Operation Iraqi Freedom; and
Whereas, a graduate of Lander University in 1999 and a 2000 graduate of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Police Academy, he not only proudly serves his country but also serves the people of the State as an Officer for the Sergeant at Arms of the House of Representatives where he maintains decorum and ensures the safety of the members and staff; and
Whereas, this hard-working and dedicated soldier and son of South Carolina, is also the beloved husband of Janel and the proud father of Herbert L. Jones, Jr.; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are most proud to have the opportunity to recognize this outstanding young man and to applaud his safe return to his family and the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, welcome home Herbert L. Jones of Columbia, South Carolina, from his tour of duty in Iraq and express the deepest respect and admiration of the members of the House of Representatives for the sacrifices he made in service to our nation and the people of Iraq.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Herbert L. Jones of Columbia, South Carolina.
