A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE NORMAN M. SCARBOROUGH, PROFESSOR AT PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE IN CLINTON FOR HIS INVALUABLE CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY AND FOR BEING NAMED PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE'S 2005 PROFESSOR OF THE YEAR.

Whereas, Norman M. Scarborough, the Scott Associate Professor of Information Sciences at Presbyterian College in Clinton, was named the 2005 Professor of the Year at the annual Honors Day Convocation; and

Whereas, loved and respected by students and faculty, Mr. Scarborough has been an esteemed member of the Department of Economics and Business Administration for twenty-six years; and

Whereas, not only is Mr. Scarborough an excellent professor, but he also is a coveted consultant on small business administration and has cowritten several textbooks on business. A Chinese language edition of his Essentials of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management is in the process of being published, and he has completed work on the eighth edition of Effective Small Business Management; and

Whereas, in addition, Mr. Scarborough has written a review course in Introductory Statistics for the instruction of students, most of whom live in Australia and East Asia; and

Whereas, Mr. Scarborough and his wife, Cindy, are active in the Clinton and Laurens County communities, and he served a vital role in the development of the City of Clinton's master plan; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly applaud Professor Norman Scarborough for his outstanding contributions to shaping the minds of the future leaders of South Carolina and the United States. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate Norman M. Scarborough, Professor at Presbyterian College in Clinton, for his invaluable contributions to the business community and for being named Presbyterian College's 2005 Professor of the Year.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Norman M. Scarborough, the 2005 Professor of the Year of Presbyterian College.
