VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO HONOR AND CONGRATULATE BELL'S CROSSING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL'S PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION FOR THEIR SUPERIOR COMMITMENT TO THE EDUCATION AND GROWTH OF SOUTH CAROLINA SCHOOLCHILDREN AS EVIDENCED BY THEIR OUTSTANDING PTA UNIT AWARD FOR THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, the national Parent Teacher Association seeks to support and speak on behalf of children and youth in schools; to assist parents in developing the skills they need to seek and protect their children; and to encourage parent and public involvement in the schools of this nation; and
Whereas, the Bell's Crossing PTA wholly embodies every facet of the national PTA mission, providing unparalleled support for the school's parents, students, and faculty in making possible programs such as the annual school carnival, Meet-Your-Teacher Night, and Student Publishing Center; and
Whereas, working tirelessly for the betterment of the school and community, the Bell's Crossing PTA earned a first-place award for parent involvement in volunteer programming, a second place award for the overall volunteer program, and a third place award for the program of the year; and
Whereas, while many South Carolina public schools struggle to get parents involved in their children's education and to actively participate in the school's programming, the Bell's Crossing PTA welcomes parents with open arms, maintaining an active membership of one-hundred percent of both parents and faculty, with over one thousand people supporting the school and the PTA; and
Whereas, the Bell's Crossing PTA and their unquestioned commitment to every undertaken endeavor has not gone unnoticed and unappreciated, as the organization was awarded the 2005 Outstanding Unit Award, and was a finalist for the same award in 2004; and
Whereas, the Bell's Crossing PTA serves as a model for PTA chapters around the State and shows what an extraordinary difference a group of dedicated, loving, and talented individuals can make in their children's lives, and, by extension, the surrounding community and State as a whole. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives honor and congratulate Bell's Crossing Elementary School's Parent Teacher Association for their superior commitment to the education and growth of South Carolina schoolchildren as evidenced by their outstanding PTA Unit Award for the State of South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to members of the Bell's Crossing PTA and those associated with the organization.
